How to Protect Your Skin in Cooler Weather

How to Keep Your Skin Healthy and Moisturized During the Colder Months

As the temperature drops, our skin tends to lose its natural moisture, which may lead to eczema and psoriasis flare-ups. Do not fret because there are ways to protect your skin during these chilly months. As an aesthetician, I recommend a few changes to your routine that will help you stay healthy and moisturized.

  • Use lukewarm or cooler water to clean your face and body instead of hot water in the shower, as it can dry out your skin. After showering, use body butter instead of lotion. Body butters are thicker and provide a better barrier for your skin.
  • Look for products that contain cocoa butter, shea butter, and/or mango butter. Our Coco-Shea is a must-have for these winter months. It contains all three butters and two moisturizing carrier oils (avocado and grape seed oil) that work together to lock in your skin’s moisture and minimize dryness with continued use.
  • Another product I recommend is our Goat Milk Soap. It is excellent for people with dry or sensitive skin, and skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Goat milk is rich in fatty acids, niacin, and vitamins like thiamine and vitamin B6.

Lastly, try our Oatmeal Honey bath bomb. It contains shea butter, honey, grape seed oil, and goat milk working together to provide ultra-conditioning.
